Dealing with Acne the Safe and Natural Way

Fortunately for me, a close friend gave me one very simple piece of advice. He pointed out that acne is a result of your body trying to rid itself of certain impurities. In other words, the cause of acne is not on the surface of your skin, but instead, it originates from within your body, and is largely due to the foods you eat, and the foods you fail to eat. This bit of advice sunk in immediately, because I had already know that certain foods can help to clean the blood, while other can help to clean the digestive tract and etc.

If you suffer from acne, then first let me say that I really do have sympathy for you. There was a stage in my life when I was going through the exact same this, so I know as well as anybody just how unpleasant it can be. To make matters even worse, I'm quite self-conscious person, and it often used to feel as though everyone was staring at me. Whether I was just being paranoid or not is of little importance. The fact remains; my acne was a huge embarrassment for me.

I lost count of all the different creams; ointments; and facial cleansers I tried, and I don’t even want to think about the amount of money I must have spent on products that did absolutely nothing for my acne. In fact, many of the things I tried simply made it worse, possibly because I have sensitive skin.

Once I embraced this line of though, I soon started to see my acne being reduced, and with a bit a self disciple and determination, I was finally able to conquer it completely. I haven't tried to publish a book on the subject, and neither do I intend to – I guess I'm just not motivated enough. My own natural acne treatment was incredibly basic. I first bought some organic facial pads which I used to use on my face at least two or three times per day, and then I started focusing on including a few "essential" foods, which were:
  • Alfalfa sprouts
  • Peppermint tea
  • Beetroot
  • Water
  • Fennel
  • Red grapes
  • Nuts, including Brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds
  • Legumes (peas; beans and lentils)
  • Kale (this is the powerhouse of vegetables)
  • Avocado
There are several other foods I focused on, but the 10 I have listed above are the ones which I really tried to have every day without fail. Today, I am pleased to say I don't have even a slight trace of acne. Remember, as the saying goes – you are what you eat.
