We all tend to think that acne is a condition that develops during puberty. There is a Connection between Diet and Acne

Although experts have previously stated that there is no connection between diet and the development of acne, more recent studies have revealed that high glycemic foods, (things like refined grains and processed sugars), may be responsible for triggering outbreaks of acne. Unfortunately, these grains and sugars are very prominent in our diets in the Western world. So in order to construct a natural acne treatment, or anti acne diet, we need to avoid eating such foods.

Avoiding Foods with a High Glycemic Content

Foods with a high glycemic content, include things like French fries, breakfast cereals, and white bread. What happens is that when these foods are ingested they create a sugar charge, which in turn triggers your pancreas to produce more insulin in order to contain the sugar surge.

Insulin Triggers the Production of Sebum

What is now known however is that this insulin also triggers your sebaceous glands to produce more sebum, the oil-like substance that in moderation is essential for maintaining healthy skin. But too much sebum results in your hair follicles becoming blocked, and this is exactly what leads to outbreak of an acne.

Prevention is Better than Cure

So avoiding foods that have a high glycemic content should not only be a part of your organic skincare program, but avoidance will also form the foundation of a natural acne treatment that prevents the conditioning developing in the first place.
